Jrnl-3: birth flower for July

The birth flower for July is the delphinium, also known as larkspurs. Delphiniums are gorgeously bright flowers that brighten up many gardens in early summer.

Fun fact! The delphinium name came from the Ancient Greeks who thought the shape of the new flower bud looked like a dolphin’s nose. But, in the UK delphiniums are more commonly known as larkspur, named after the claws of a lark.

Delphiniums aren’t the only birth flower associated with July though. Water lilies are another July birth month flower. These exotic flowers are native in the Amazon region and caused a real stir when they made their debut in the UK for their beauty!
